- Notes on astrological Saturn:
A Devilish Open-Eyed Approach to the Blind Old 'Gods' of-the-Past

When the notion of Parents functioning as food for their Children is mentioned, it causes great uneasiness and distress – there is a general tendency at present day to consider this as something “outrageous” and to reject even a mere thought of it.  

On the other side, the mythological imagery of a parental figure eating its own children is not only accepted as quite “plausible”, but indeed – as some kind of “natural” description of “how things work”; we can see this depicted visually, in artistic manner, and read about it, seamlessly present all around as part of the Established Culture, the Greek form of it existing for at least some 4,000 years now; a bit different version of the same story, that of human parental figure Abraham using its child as a trading-item with a creature presented in that story as “divine”, in exchange for the “reward” of “Abraham’s own seed” thus getting to proceed, equally seamlessly goes on being told and re-told as something quite “normal”.

For a few millennia now, the human species has been taught these stories. What in it easily at first encounter spontaneously comes across as plainly abhorrently repulsive, indeed, from a simple Child’s perspective is quite openly pathological, gets quickly explained-away to a young and daring inquirer: “oh, but it’s *just* a myth!” – and the stories keep being told; with Values they represent keeping their position as “values” – the stories being deeply embedded into the collective subconsciousness of the species as a “norm” of “how things work on a deeper level” (such level which the myths exist to represent).

And the young inquirer goes on with their life – being carefully trained and taught to continue the same core cluster-of-patterns which the parents of the given child themselves have been operating-on, with evaluating own existence, own worth and everything they perform (as the new-generation of species Homo) by subtly-woven iron-threading of Ideas, stories and culturally accepted as collective “general norm” (the parameter outside which one is not de-facto considered a Human) basic ethical notions of the generations that came before, the parents.

… It is one’s fighting-capacity, combined with Luck! – it’s basically just a matter of chance, in the randomness of how things operate – go on these old stories with their “explaining” – which is what gets one not-eaten by their parental ruling-figure (- the Zeus/Jupiter theme); so, here you are, existing and moving on planet Earth – you, obviously, got lucky enough to be thus - so how could you possibly be as ungrateful as to “complain” about it?! … And so the child goes on, living its “lucky” existence: with some slight variations in surface expressions of it, perpetuating and continuing the exact-same basic value pattern of its parents, the pattern based on notion that it is the New Generation, the Future, the Next-evolutionary opening-up-step of the species which exists In-Service-Of the Old, the past, the bygone, that which itself, as such, is naturally destined to, during progression of time, get defunct & become dead.

But: if not for the children, could an exemplar of a species be called a parent?

Verily, it is the Children that make one into a Parent, and not – as those stories would want us believe – the other way around!

That model, the propagation of the Past and what is destined-to-die as something which in itself contains the Value which is eternally-adequate to be taken as the Ultimate-Norm, observed from a purely natural, biological evolutionary perspective is how the parasitic species keep themselves running: the very-basic pattern (of the dependency-mechanism of being-attached-to, necessitating a Vital host) does not change, it keeps being propagated and remains exactly the same, while the external adaptive mechanisms keep shifting – adjusting anew and anew, and in ways so that the entirely-unchanged very basic operation-model, which is existing solely via the parasitic-attachment-to-a-host (while the host does not, for Life and own existence, necessitate this species’ presence in any way – to say the least …), gets to keep going-on, staying exactly-as-it-is .

Along with these stories, the astrological Saturn has also been credited with the following qualities:

It is the representative of the Reality-of-Life in very practical, material sense; it is connected to the passage of Time; it represents the figure of a parental-authority; it denotes the harsh & heavy, and when prominent in chart, it is said to make the person “need suffering” and stands for a character such that it can only thrive when there is struggle, hardship, obstacles, frustrations etc.

If you have this planet placed in some way which makes it among most important factors of your Natal chart, the “go-to” astrologers’ blurb (not only of present day, but for a long long time now, across different “schools” and “branches” of it) includes instruction on how to simply accept your own inborn “desire-for”, an “intrinsic need” for misery and suffering! There’s nothing much to “bang your head about”, or think of reflectingly deeply on it, it’s just – so those stories go – how “by default” you are: you excel in conditions of being beaten-down by life, and the more you suffer and more misery you get to experience, the better off you’ll get to be.

Upon some open-eyed reflection, we see how seamlessly the root-pattern which is against-Life got itself attached here, via the myth-based stories and various similar Value-reproducing means, to what is by itself Neutral (neither “good” nor “bad” as such; and not by any kind of “natural default” indicating some “necessity for suffering”):
within the cluster of ideas related to this one same astrological planet, we see the concept of Reality as such being put together with the notion-ideas of suffering-as-virtue and misery-as-value; the Time is attributed to Saturn, and how it is being 'explained' is by using a self-enclosed-circle, simply a Loop, as image of “eternity” (the What’s-to-be can only, solely, exclusively Be within the framework-patterns of the What-was).

The concept and phenomenon of limitation, of definition, of “framework” generally speaking is by itself a natural one: a cell has its membrane, as the physical “border” which defines the space which is (as distinct from that which isn’t) its own body. There is nothing inherently oriented to suffering, to need-for-struggle, etc., in this; it’s a simple phenomenon of Nature: in what we know as Reality of our everyday existence, all appearances – as long as they are individual, specific appearances – have their own peculiar “borders” their “definitions”, the “limits” within which they as such are.

And each being, quite spontaneously and naturally (when there is not some kind of abusive interference with its natural functioning and growth-tendencies), tends toward operating exactly in-accordance-with and within-the-framework-of these “limits”.

When this process is not being intruded-upon in an unhealthy way, the operations of each “cell” go smoothly, and the Whole to which it belongs functions in a harmonious, happy way.
Within such circumstances, as an overarching environmental-conditions’ main patter, even the beings (species) whose nature is parasitic do not endanger the process of Life’s further existence, the continuation of Vitality of the Whole as such: they get to not spread as much as to overtake the whole, but only to a degree which is inherently balanced so that they themselves may keep existing; they themselves can’t go on existing for long without the full healthy functionality of the Whole, while the vice-versa doesn’t stand, so, from the perspective of the Whole, it’s a matter of either fine-point-of-tolerating, or of entirely exterminating, this type of beings.

It may come as challenging at first, but it is worth the persistent conscious effort to gradually get into the habit of approaching the astrological planets in way which is devoid of the debilitating, demise-oriented, damaging for our Growth and Vitality itself, this kind of stories, with the notions and ideas which they got to be connected-to over time – as gradually and subtly as this happened, and with taking hold as deeply, within the realm of our Subconsciousness (collective and individual alike) as it did.

The first, perhaps even the largest, step is to let go of the tendency to perceive Nature as something which is “inherently” oriented toward any of Her being’s (human or otherwise) experiencing-perpetually/existing-in suffering, misery, need-for-conditions-of-perpetual-problems (unresolvable!), and similar such pathological, loopy notions.

Such an approach, presenting an astrological factor as something somehow “by itself” oriented-toward what’s essentially pathological (for example: expecting that a certain combination of planets, such as, say, Mars-Saturn combo, or Saturn-Pluto combo, or Neptune-Mars, etc, has an “inherent tendency” toward some-something which “inevitably leads the Native” into a behavior-pattern/character-development which is not-healthy) is simply: using the astrological factors as convenient “objects” to project onto them the Responsibility-faculty for one’s own behavior and choices, and instead of: observing these factors, so that over time an Understanding about them emerges ( = true Insight into Nature’s operations, qualities and rhythms), based on actual Knowledge about them and the related increased Knowledge about our own selves and Life as such – instead of this, we keep staying within the same-old circles of blindness, avoiding to take a nakedly-open, direct Look into our own actions, choices and the actual patterns of behavior, with acknowledging properly our Responsibility in the development of conditions (for each of us individually, as well as what-thus-gets-accrued, appearing eventually as a seemingly overwhelmingly-huge for any one specific individual/group to “deal with it”, collective condition), and just “blaming” these astrological factors for this or that such-&such appearance in human’s own chosen (and accepted as “normal”) way & manner of: language, symbols & imagery-use; approach-to-Nature, behavior-patterns on everyday-level, and in general, our chosen, by blind-habituation-established, course of activity.

The ideas at the base of many of world-spread religious movements today, which are essentially Ethical and represent Values that train the human psyche to perceive the-past as the value-defining-framework for all-potential-as-such of the-future, found their way into getting tightly-attached-to the in themselves entirely Neutral (devoid of any ethical connotation as such) concepts related to actual natural phenomena which have emerged to our awareness over time as related to astrological factors.

The notion, for example, of human life on Earth being simply by some “default” in itself “a condition of misery” (such as: the very fact that you are born indicates “you’re a sinner” – you must be “paying off” some “debt”, or/and performing some very specific operations of devotion to a specific “divine form” so that in this way, not while living on earth, but as soon as you die, you get to experience Harmony & Joy; or, another version: “the earthly existence is inherently suffering”, it is so and can not be anything but this, and in order to somehow “deal with it”, you need to first simply fully accept that this is so, and then proceed by working on gradually psychologically bringing yourself into condition of getting “above it”, “mastering” it via specific sequences of practices which enable to proceed being present-to-it, whilst you’re “over it”, via having attained to such lofty, saintly condition…) is the most deeply-ingrained one, spreading in its different surface form-expressions through manyhood of religious central Value cluster-stories.

What is at the base of all clusters-of-ideas and stories of this kind (invisibly holding the whole outer structure of it still, however now shakingly, standing, despite it lacking any actual natural Vital Root, a proper Foundation) is the notion that Nature in Herself has some kind of “inherent” tendency/orientation toward torturing, molesting, debilitating, and so forth, an individual human being (or humanity as such).

Or in other words and in brief: Nature, often quite very subtly, but persistently, keeps being represented as an Enemy:
She’s depicted as somehow, by Herself as She is, “intent” toward “destroying you”, and you’re taught to fight against Her, or otherwise perform very specific operations of engaging with her in a struggle/conflict/oppression/suppression-of-Her-tendencies, etc. manner, i.e. an dominance/over-powering, master-slave dynamic of interaction; or, if struggle/conflict/suppression is not plausible in an open direct manner as such, than via gradually cajoling, “training” Her to be operating solely & exclusively in ways which some given human culture-group’s intellectual or other similar, partial & very limited capacities, perceive as non-frightening-for-one’s-own-self way.

-- Among the oldest recorded very clear and plain examples of such stories ( - and this one with that basic harmful, poisonous message put out rather explicitly!) we have the Enuma Elish, with its peculiar and as detailed as it is plot-depiction related to Tiamat.

So deeply habituated as “normal” are these kinds of stories – the essential Value-patterns they keep, promote & perpetuate, and via which they hold the psyche of our collective, and of the individuals, tightly loop-enclosed – that after the first actual initial, daring step of moving-out & away from the seeming “safety” of their all-pervading walls, it requires a prolonged, piercing steadfast continuous conscious effort to proceed, with openly, directly Observing, oriented toward anew & anew Seeing-Through the various veils of the thick, heavy layers and aspects of the charade that (with ferocious gulping hunger, and heavy inertia in it) keeps being presented before our eyes, on all sides, through all aspects of what’s the currently still-yet mostly considered as “normal” global Culture.

… No, easy this is not! It is quite Saturnine, that’s for sure – and, by Saturnine here is meant: with such unblinkingly-open stare of the Eye directly into the face of What-Is as-it-is, that all the veils fall aside, disappear, and the naked Beauty of it emerges eventually before one’s sight – bringing the heart, anew and anew, thus as one goes, to burst into vivacious Laughter! - just as the astrological Saturn has shown itself to be the representative of the Humorous – with all the sordid, sublime and exalted of the Rapturous of it.

It is, by present-day way of time-counting, year 2023 “after the birth” of one such parasitic-loop-oriented Value-perpetuating mythological figure. ( -- Other, different ways of how we count the time, and account for what we know as History and Pre-History of Homo species, will come to emerge, but this is not the place to go into specifically addressing that subject.)
We have been now collectively for so long keeping the most basic of the old, defunct patterns – via the stories and the myths, along with practical operations aligned with these malignant forms – that the actually damaging aspects of it, in quite simple terms of our Reality of exiting-within-environment of this planet, have become beyond obvious, fully impossible to somehow “not notice”:

She whom we have been treating as an “enemy” and approaching in blind, fearful and selfish, personal-merit (of a group; of a species) oriented, whilst suavely manipulative, manner – is showing us openly what Irreversibility-of-Time, the Limitations & the Law-of-Balance (concepts pertinent to the astrological planet Saturn) means; there’s no need to go into any kind of special “philosophical debate” about it – the condition of the living environment on Earth, not only for human species but the whole ecosystem, as it is today, speaks for itself.

This planet, while we as generation-living-today on it, exist, along with ourselves and our approach to what we know as Natural Environment (this does include the “inner” as well as the “outer” aspects of it, when the human being is concerned) – is not here “for the past generations”.

What we are Doing in our time, in this Now, is the Service we perform (it’s all we can do, really) for the Children: for the Future Generations – those yet-to-come – not as replicas of the past-patterns, but as the New Springing of Life itself.

Granted we truly do feel authentic care for what we know as Life-on-Earth, and desire for Human to not merely “just proceed existing”, however-long-it-may-get, in whatever-condition-possible,  regardless of how of it or of any effects of that for the Ecosystem of the planet Earth, but we truly feel Love and do care for the Homo species as well as feel desire for Life on this planet to Go On in  harmonious, the utmost-best-way --- it is our Duty ( - yet another among the Saturn-related themes!) to let-go-of, and to thoroughly purify (- and yet another of Saturn-related themes) within the our thus-far habituated patterns-of-operations from its still-existing main, central cluster-chunk  the old, defunct stories, and the Values these carry-on.

This is the best, and only actual, real service we can be of ( - consider this in light of the concept of Service being one of the main themes related to Saturn, and such that it’s essentially devoid of ethical “coloring” and solely rooted in actual, practical utmost-functionality; start with: from the perspective of our-planet-Earth-as-an-organic-Whole, and then proceed with gradually expanding this, via considering how the Earth itself is a part of the wider-Whole of the Body with-not-defined/known-limits of the time-space-continuum we call the Universe …) :

This is Service to Life itself, and it is an activity of true respect for all those generations-past, of all the species which this Earth brought-forth into emergence so that eventually Homo as well could come to be, gradually as it has been getting to move toward its own growth, into unfolding of its open-ended, continual-evolution-oriented, capacities – not otherwise but with & within the context of the specific diversified & harmonious Ecosystem of this planet.

This is what is meant by the “Parents functioning as food for their Children”:
Each currently-living generation bringing itself and own operation-patterns into such Balanced, such actually-harmonious, devoid of manipulative patterns-&stories, within-own-adequate-limits condition of Being & Behaving, that what it gives to the Next generation is of utmost-best “nutritive value”: it does not “give” so that in this way it could engage in a kind of a trade (“I give something, so thus I expect to get something in-return”), it gives-whole-of-itself so that it Nourishes adequately the Life that Yet-Is-Not, and is Just-Emerging – not “for the sake of one’s own self”, or of “keeping an established pattern/tradition”, but gives itself fully, wholly, without any desire to thus get a one’s-own-gain or “reward” via this  --  truly gives-serves so that the New-Stemming of Life Itself emerges into its Own potential -- to Go & to Grow in accordance with its own unique, new, to the past-generations entirely unknown, thus-far-not-yet-having-existed, nature/qualities.

“Our” Children do not belong-to-us; it is in truth us that belong to them. And it is our duty to, instead of heavy-load-of-poisonous-waste which blocks their own healthy, happy, joyous Emergence-Into-Being & Further-Movement, ourselves Do and Be in such ways that, at each step to-our-utmost-possible-best, fully and wholly give all that we are to enable Them to emerge into --- for us in actuality entirely-unknown, and with us as parental-generation fully open to, on-the-go, be Learning from It what-to-do & how-to-be so that we can serve It best --- their own Unique-Being.

What is Reality gets defined and redefined anew in this movement. The at-each-next-step perceptible horizon-line, circular-shaped as it appears, is recognized for the gate-realm-area that it is: there to, by its existence, support the movement, not to demark its “final enclosure line”.

It is a movement that requires leaving behind, step-by-step, steadily yet decidedly, all of the defunct circus-charade imagery of the past of the “holiness of ouroboros gulping its own tail” kind, and, with pitch-pure focus of being navigated by stellar Beauty & Joy, wholeheartedly, & with our minds and bodies attuned, fearlessly Going Forward -- just like the Milky Way does -- while in-these-physical-bodies-on-Earth, and with-the-Earth, in the ever-expanding, open-spiral movement – and with, in this, nothing uncertain about the “defined” destination-direction: ever-toward the Next-Newly-Emerging, in continuous-dancing-Presence with its Unknown to learn-from, into the vast-openness of Infinity.

THE ZODIAC

The traveller Earth, like a dervish-dancer, spins on its own axis. From perspective of an observer stationary located at one place on its surface, this is a rhythmic turning toward & away-from the Sun; and if the observer is at a non-polar region, during such one turn there are two distinct phases: one with the Sun above horizon, and the other when its visible disk is hidden from sight, behind the zone of the horizon-area.

 

The length of each of these portions of one such spin-turn gradually waxes and wanes during the course of one pulse-tide of the planet's dance-movement around the Sun; and twice in a single such wave-unit, the length of the Sun-above and Sun-below horizon portions of the on-own-axis rotation are mutually quantitatively equal; we call these occasions Equinoctes.

 

And in relation to the plane of planet's annual motion, the angular position of this its axis isn't stationary: it "wobbles", or gyrates - and does so in a steady rhythmical beat as well: turning one whole round at a frequency of cca 26,000 annual tide dance-turns.

 

If on the planet's surface there is an observer endurable & patient enough - say, for practical illustrative purposes, a stone with its peculiar way of witnessing such things - capable of recording/remembering what's seen, and making note of what stars are visible on the Eastern horizon immediately pre-dawn on each subsequent year on one of the Equinox days (it can be Vernal or Autumnal, and the observer can be located on the North or the South of planet's hemispheres - choose your pick), it'd see the Zodiac-belt stars "wheeling" around, in the ~26,000 annual tide-beats rhythm, with the specific 12 segments of this belt-area gradually appearing and disappearing, following one another and this in sequence with opposite direction of that in which the Luminary-discs and the "wanderer stars" (planets) traverse the same space area: the visibility of the Sagittarius-zone, followed by visibility of the Scorpio-zone, followed by visibility of the Libra-zone, and so forth, in a rhythmical beat of each of the 12 being thus present, before the next-in-sequence starts appearing, for about 2,167 annual tides.

 

This phenomenon is generally known by the term "Astrological ages".

 

A North-hemisphere located observer at current time, looking at this at Vernal Equinox day pre-dawn moments, will notice the stars within Pisces constellation (belonging within first 5*-6* degrees of it, counted Luminary/planetary-annual-movement direction-wise).

 

That same portion-area of the Zodiac as it has been pre-dawn appearing at the given Equinox-day during ~24,000 BC; as it's been appearing during ~179,000 BC; as it's been appearing during ~ 361,000 BC ... in brief: at every ~26,000 years since after the Earth-Moon system's birth our planet's axial tilt "settled" into motion-position configuration of this its ~23*-inclination-to-Solar/ecliptic-plane, ~26,000 own years for a full gyro-turn, rhythm - till the present day.

 

Have the conditions on Earth, and, in specific, the peculiar *quality* of what we know as Evolution of Life here, been the same as they are now, in, say, ~24,000 BC, as they were in ~50,000 BC, as they were in ~76,000 BC etc, - during each of these periods when the Vernal/Autumnal point has been aligned with this same zone-area of the Zodiac?

- The answer is so clear that the question itself is funny, indeed, even merely as a thought.

 

Yet - hold your breath! - there's something *even more* hilarious: for ages now (all puns intended), there've been 'astrologers' spouting-out their 'wisdom' which in a defining manner speaks of the Zodiac as a loopy-circular-knot: "Oh, at root, it's eternal return of the same", say they, "it's just about the variations in manifest forms" (indeed, it's not so hard to imagine how if that group of amphibians which was first to dare into the prolonged-dryness-of-air, had been somehow able at the time to foresee specimen as these eventually coming, they'd be quite solemnly drawn to fully re-consider the entire undertaking ... ) - "it's just the circle turning around! - yes, there are variations in specific expressions, but what-was-thus-far is ESSENTALLY the same as what-is-to-come - ehm, what can there really *ever* be new under-the-Sun?"

 

... fix a stick in the ground so that it's stable-standing and can rotate on own axis, tie one end of a rope to it and the other to your waist (applying this to neck not recommended!), and move one-full-turn around the stick, with equal pressure of rope-tightness, well-stretched, on the body: there it is! - your path thus traversed just reflected this 'ultimate perfection' which is the circle! (Or: position yourself stationary & with rotating-on-own-axis conditions, and apply the described rope-connection with another being, who'd do the round-movement -- to experience the 'ultimate perfection' of the same dynamics from this internal alternate reference-point).

 

"Look", the aforementioned 'astrologers' direct the attention of the new learner of the stellary-science, "it is these same segments of the ever-lasting, holy Circle that just keep appearing & re-appearing. Ah, the marvel, oh, the supreme profundity!"

 

... While the treveller Earth - together with her companion Moon, a unique duo-member of the Sun-suite - elegantly smooth-dancing as she does, keeps Going On ...

Slow does she seem to the ants on her surface moving at their unique frequency, this wanderer Earth.

 

But for the Saturn's sight, ah, isn't she such a busy-body?

 

And how fuming-speedy must she appear to Sedna, each time when in her own flight she's in the within-heliosphere part!

 

... From mills, it's now the wheels, oh thou adventurer Earth! (ready, perhaps, for some of-yet-unseen-kind, entirely new, flash-striking Birth?!)

The Moon for sure knows what's-been-up, keeping the intimate watch of this your hidden-in-the-open Art ..

 

Dances enraptured in its unique galactic beat, glowing steadily with Joy of witnessing this all, the Sun's burning stellar heart!

So, without getting ourselves stuck with running-in-circles, how then can we make use of this knowledge - that there is this very specific band-like area of the outer-space clearly perceivable from Earth, known as the Zodiac, and to which we can reliably apply the geometrical form of 360-degrees circle for the measurements related to it?

 

To untangle the old loopy knot and get ourselves moving in alignment with the motion of the Universe, a few most-basic clarifying steps are first due.

 

Let's go for the stroll!

The form of the path traversed by each member of our local stellar-suite isn't a circle; the movement of the Sun around the Galactic Center isn't a circle; nor is what we see as the Zodiac-area in the sky actually a circle.

Just like a map of a place isn't the actual territory, but serves for its representation (and as such, can be accurate more or less), or a word spoken isn't the phenomenon it refers to itself, but a peculiar mental-verbal form serving as symbolic representation of it --  so is the geometric form of the Zodiac as a circle in astrology:  it is a symbolic form, practically applicable for us on Earth for measurements and calculations.

 

And here, now, is the *key* point - which, when properly understood, opens up for sight what's been previously obscurely appearing in perception as a wall, revealing it for the gateway (doors!) that it actually is:

 

A symbol - any symbol as such - is a *communication device*.

 

A symbol performs its job well when it adequately serves to *connect* (rather than to dis-connect!) our psyche/awareness with the phenomenon itself which it exists to represent.

 

And this is so in an exclusive manner: *solely* when this proper-connecting function is operative, is a symbol actually useful and its existence healthy, justified.

 

When there is a symbol which *is* being regularly used, but does not operate in this way, it is not "merely" dysfunctional and obsolete - this situation is actually damaging and dangerous: the given form in such cases is akin to poison being poured into the very opening of a mountain spring of a river, or having something extraneous, not vision-supporting, within your eye: it is something standing/abiding at a peculiar trans-mission, *movement*-serving place (think: a gateway, a hallway, a passage-door), so if not *conducting* the movement-stream *adequately for the given specific position*, such a phenomenon at such 'location' acts de-facto as a blocking, obstructing and/or a thwarting, turning-the-stream-toward-demise, factor.

Imagine you have a radio device, generally working well, with only one 'tiny' technical flaw such that for a given specific range of frequencies (say, including not more than 3 peculiar frequency-waves, among multiple-thousands for which it's operative) the sound "V" gets transmitted in a distorted way, so that what you hear is the sound "R" instead (or that, for example, the "Aa" sound always comes out as an "Ii").

You're using this device to receive information from far-far-away realms, otherwise entirely outside of scope of your perception. Thousands of frequency-waves are being transmitted, and it's only very rarely that any of those in that specific range affected by the technical flaw are being tuned-on; such a sophisticated radio device is hard to make, there's just a dozen or so of them on the whole globe, so, of course, you don't use it solely in order that you personally can listen to what-comes-through it, but the whole wider community you belong to avails itself of its functionality and existence.

No problem of any kind!, whatsoever, eh?

But, imagine that it's through those specific few - exactly three of them, let's put it so for example - frequency-waves that the vital, very core information is being transmitted: such related to the most basic things about human approach to food, information about breathing rhythms, and other similarly *most simple*, quite rudimentary aspects of our daily psycho-biological operations. So, only every once in a long, long while, on rare and exceptional occasions, or when there's some pronounced urgency, or a need/necessity for it, these get tuned-onto and listened to, otherwise, it's practically as if they aren't even there.

 

Yet, unlike the information transmitted via other wave-frequencies, these peculiar three are the ones coming most-immediately, directly from the vital-energy-stream's Source (- who/what else emits specifically such kind of information, right?). 

The device is being used, it seems in every respect fully functional, no flaws of any kind are at all being noticed.

 

But the vital information is exactly that: Vital.

Unlike any other type of information, the high-precision of accuracy in its transmission isn't a "negligent tiny detail", it's an actual, and very immediate (however perhaps something far-away seeming!) matter of life-or-death. And what's coming through wave-frequencies transmitting such information is not "given once, to be taken in that fixed-same way or form, for eternity"; the peculiar form-ulations moving-through therein are shifting over time, just like the adequate form of food for a 2-months old baby differs from the form adequate for the 12-months old, differs from that adequate for the 2-years old toddler, etc; each living being has its unique nature and capacities, and these are being nurtured into their emergence and healthy-unfolding by the space-time continuum's "aspect" we know as Mother Nature through processes which are *precisely timed* and are not operating as manifestations of some "given once-and-for-all fixed-formula" - they're ongoingly evolving, changing in accordance to the specifics of each given peculiar living beings' developmental-stage-related capacities & needs.

 

... One can be using such a radio, noticing absolutely nothing flawed about it, for as long as they are living; historical recordings, and all kinds of paraphernalia attesting to the splendor and wonderfulness of the device's utmost-functionality can be made; and all the following generations of those in the area within that same device's operational-reach could thus proceed. And if it so happens that of the dozen-or-so such devices existing on the globe there is only one, or a few of them without this peculiar technical flaw, these would be proclaimed to be not-adequately-functioning.

 

And everything, indeed (for what looks like quite-a-long time from a single human personal lifetime point of view) could appear entirely jolly-merry, splendidly flawless to the out-of-tune radio attached-to ones -- up until the *very final moments* before the Natural expiration-date, for each of the groups and individuals that are in such way, quite subtly but *radically* mis-aligned with the actuality of rhythms and frequencies of the space-time continuum's Vital stream-movement, comes to transpire.

So, for the Key-point not to be lost, let's put it forward again:

A SYMBOL is such a form which serves as a communication-device; it functions properly *solely* if & when it's *adequately connecting* our psyche/awareness with the phenomenon itself which it exists to -- and specifically: *in a conducting/conveying manner*, as the peculiar *suitable passage-vehicle* -- represent.

Out of the whole of visible sky from Earth, this peculiar band-area which we know as the Zodiac, and represent by a geometrical circle, is the zone ‘within’ which we see the planets of our Solar system move; or, in other words: this is the starry-space area with which the *plane* of our local, home-star-system’s planetary suite being and movement is aligned.

 There are numerous stars in each of the 12 segments of it, with different properties re how old and how mutually distant from each other they are, uniquely for each pair/group/cluster considered. It is from the perspective of our Solar system – we can take the Sun itself as the central reference point here – that the peculiar unifying-connectedness of their nature emerges; and this not “just randomly so”, but in a very specific way so, and *exclusively so*.

Or, to use a different verbal formulation to convey this same information:
Our Solar system, with the movements of all members of this particular stellar-suite, is in a uniquely specific way *attuned* with exactly this area-region of the whole of the body of the time-space continuum.

The English word Zodiac, the Latin Zodiacus, the Hellenic “zodiakos”, “zoos”, “vios”, and “bios”, as well as the whole family of Italic words based on & related to “vivo” and “vita”, the Indo-Iranian “jivati”, “jiva” (Sanksrit) and ‘zividan” (Persian), the Baltic “gyvas” and dzivot”, and various Slavic words (like the Russian, Slovak, Czech, Macedonian, etc., “život” ) that in their meaning, even to this day, directly convey what is otherwise the hidden radix – that reaches so deep underneath the surface-branchings of the visible growth of the large Indo-European language family-tree, so far-away in our collective language-development past, that of the exact “whence” of its appearance in time, and the specific “whereabouts” of the initial habituation of its use, we barely know anything, and are now merely just able to ascertain that, once-upon-a-time, it used to be: they are the present-day existing verbal-forms branchings stemming from the Proto-Indo-European root *gʷeyh₃- , “to live”.

Those reading this in English who are also familiar with the Slavic and Indo-Iranian language forms will immediately notice the vocal (meaning: by the specific sound-structuring) relation with the words related to Frequency and Sound (within the Indo-Iranian culture, there is even a major Deity form immediately representing this – often depicted as Dancing, and with his characteristic instrument, the damaru).

As is our Solar system’s plane-of-motion attuned with this (and *exactly* this) region-area of the whole of the visible sky, so does the trace-of-our-language-development reveal with clarity what over time easily tends to become obscured, until entirely forgotten: it is not a matter of some ‘coincidence’, some kind of ‘randomness’ -- this Life as we know of it here on Earth and within this our Solar system, came-to-be, is and goes-on as a unique time-space manifestation, an expanding-radial-expression of,  and solely within-the-context-of, this very peculiar, pitch-specific attunement of frequencies.

… How far back in time does reach our awareness-of (the basic knowledge-about) the Zodiac as-such? It still isn’t possible to say now with a precise certainty. Marshack’s work revealed that the characteristic Ice-age bone notations have been recordings of the *observed* Lunar period and phases; among the Cave Art thus far uncovered, there are images depicting clearly & indisputably some segments of this our celestial-bestiary (with images of planets included) - albeit with this kind of “memo-notes”, without a direct indication (in an at least implicit way) that those leaving the recordings were aware of the *whole Girdle as a singular phenomenon*, we today can’t say for sure what was the exact scope and degree of their knowledge of the Zodiac per se; Fagan’s work uncovered that the monumental inscriptions on the Ramesseum’s ceiling at Karnak show not only the Zodiac, but this with the record, as well, of planetary positions as they have been on a specific day (July 16^th, 2767 BC, by Julian count) – providing in an explicit and wholesome manner the information that, beyond any doubt, during this period such level of knowledge did exist ( & with having been considered as important as for it to be recorded in the manner that it was); and the excavations at the Gobekli and Karahan Tepe are still at their earliest stages – what’ll these reveal when completed, remains yet to be seen …

Through our own history as Earthly species (Homo), our evolution -- with the development of language/symbols-for-communication and the recording-systems -- has been intimately tied with this process of continual-observation, with the gradual increasing-refinement-of-precision (accuracy) of what can be seen-&-recorded, in relation to, explicitly, the Zodiac region of the whole of the visible sky.
Our human species-unique awareness of Time – from the initial emergence, into the further evolution/unfolding of this capacity --- has been based on the experience (combined with some form of recording/memo-making of what’s-been-noticed) of the observation of the Soli-Lunar rhythms and tidings, within this peculiar context of the starry-backdrop area of their visible ‘paths’ that we now know as the Zodiac.

Adequately nurturing, and further developing our knowledge-of, and increasingly-consciously moving in actual proper alignment-with these, what we call, “the astrological rhythms” isn’t, for our life on Earth, some superfluous, not-exactly-necessary and merely-one-of-many, aspects of the How & What of our being: it is the actual & radical Vital factor.

So, here is this vital-for-us stellar region called the Zodiac; and to get dis-connected, slip into the deadly deafness of losing-touch with It is, clearly, a no-go. How do we Proceed?

Letting-go of the main chunk of the obscuring baggage-load of our previously held-onto projections and prejudices is necessary, a willful turn toward a healthy demystification movement, before we can actually, collectively, get properly with the further-Going.

Observed from Earth, the Zodiac is a celestial region, a band-like area of the visible space around us.

There are stars in this area, and there are some shapes/forms arising as visual imagery in our awareness, as we look at this; throughout time, and at different locations (among different groups of Homo species), the specific parts of this region have been called by different names; the ones we use for them now have come to be embedded in our collective subconsciousness through the process of the related Egyptian imagery from some 4-2,000 years ago finding its way to the Alexandrian and post-Alexander-time Greek historians & scholars, and from there gradually becoming more or less our Global collective norm (with very few exceptions), via the spontaneous spreading of information on Earth through time as it came to be.

As long as we are aware that these names represent portions of actual starry-space, and not get ourselves entangled-into (blindly attached-to) the notion of ‘map-as-actual-territory’ while we’re using them, there is no problem with it at all.

But there are stories related to these images; these stories become created over time, introducing a movement-quality into what’s a fixed-shape of a geometrical form – initially as means of conveying the knowledge-thus-far-obtained, and easing the process of communicating it to the young so that a peculiar personal-intimacy-of-connection gets spontaneously thus developed with what otherwise tended to seem, during one long period-phase of our development, as so very far-away-removed from us that no *direct* contact, of immediacy-kind, is at all possible to exist. We nowadays know these stories as Myths.

Useful as they perhaps had been, in practical sense - each so pertinent to the time & circumstances of their appearance - to be perceived as heralds of some ‘secret, sacred Ultimate truth’ about the Zodiac isn’t just misplaced, at this time it functions as a yet-additional factor of obscuring – a factor leading us further into getting cut-off, the disconnection: these stories are what the human mind developed to “animate” the already-formed imagery; they are Projections – and as such, speak of the human growing capacities over time well, but do not actually say anything directly and immediately about the stars, the celestial region itself.
With the details and the plots they contain, they tend to direct the attention (and the stream of energy-movement of our psyche, in whole, together with this) in a very subtle but loopy-vortex-kind of manner into a circulation-within-circle, and then lock it there; we get attached (deeply, internally very intimately so) to these specific ideas that have a time-movement feature in them (ideas formulated as stories), which thus seem as if they’re representing some vital-movement (growth, development) while what they actually do is keep the attention and energy within the realm of a specific cluster of human own (growth-phase defined, and thus naturally very limited in their quality & scope) ideas & thinking-processes – projecting these onto the Celestial realm, and taking this mirror-reflections thus ‘seen’ as some kind of ‘actual information’ about the Stars themselves!

Unlike these stories, the positions of the stars, and the rhythm-beat of number 12, are as they are – these are factors which did not arise out of some group/culture’s transient, fanciful ideas or opinions.

From one to the next, between two consecutive Earth’s annual-level periods - whether measured from Equinoces, or in relation to the ecliptic-region stars rising in the East after Sunset - the New Lunar Crescent appears into its visibility 12 times (after its so-called “hidden phase”, which is the transition from the “Dark Moon” of the waning gibbous crescent, through the astronomical conjunction with Sun phase, until its emergence into being visible again as the New Moon). And on the diurnal level, from one to the next, between two consecutive moment/periods of the same Zodiac star(s) appearing on the horizon – that is, during one Earth’s turn on its axis – the “path traversed”, or movement, of the Moon and the Sun, expressed in arc-degrees on the ecliptic, has the rhythm-ratio of 12:1.

It is within this rhythm-beat matrix of the mutual attunement of these three, central in most Fundamental sense for us here, celestial ‘factors’ – the Moon, the Sun and the starry-area of the sky “through” which these two celestial Luminaries are, as seen from our perspective on Earth, “traversing” - that every cell of every living organism on this planet has emerged into its being.

Rather than looking how to “connect” with the time-space continuum’s Vital stream whose directly-visible celestial expression for us is the Zodiac through increasingly-thickening entanglement into the veiling, obscuring-network of our own thinking-&-calculating processes, the way of continuation & deepening/refinement/evolution of actual Connection is through orientation toward ever-growing in its quality Immediacy of contact.  -  If one has senses developed for direct, immediate reception of information from a physically-distant-realm, the presence of a transmission tool such as is a radio-device can be useful, but isn’t at all necessary; and if/when such a device happens to be malfunctioning, an occurrence of that kind does not operate as a factor leading to the loss of actual contact/connection.
 

During the past cca 1.5 dozen of centuries, the human species has gradually but consistently been trained into greater and greater dis-continuation of immediacy of contact with the Starry sky itself, with the capacity for direct-connection becoming so atrophied, by huge tumorous-kind of structure-growth of layer-upon-layer of obscurity, over time, that it came to it now appearing as something veritably “entirely impossible”.

Not only is the very notion that a human being can learn something about the sky, stars and Life itself by simple, one’s own, persistent careful Observation, close to extinct, but the physical conditions for us on Earth for such basic immediacy of presence-with the phenomena of the visible celestial realm have turned into what’s forcefully and emphatically been oriented toward disabling this kind of Contact: what we nowadays so casually call “the light pollution” and tend to perceive as just ‘some rather negligent in importance’, a yet-another-factor-of our modern-day existence, “normal aspect of existence”, is far from actually normal, in the healthy natural sense of it, for our Life on Earth – as “quite normal” as it seems, with all the complex subtleties of different aspects of its existence, what it actually is is something outright functioning in the service of our demise.
 
Looking at screens with letters, numbers and percentage-notations generated by a software, as not only primary-way, but the only way, of how we “keep the connection with” and “receive-information-from” the Celestial realm, without the direct immediacy of exposure-to and visual-contact-with the night sky itself, is much akin to someone staring at the physical reflection of their own face in a plain, simple mirror, claiming this mirror is a highly-refined, advanced telescope, and feeling absolutely certain that what is transpiring via this process is: they’re thus obtaining and increasingly-deepening their knowledge about some very specific distant Celestial realms & their actualities.

Human being’s capacities and their adequate development/evolution require presence of both Day-light and the Night – as these naturally and rhythmically occur for a living being existing on Earth.

Thinking about the stars is exactly that: thinking.
There is no amount of thinking that can make a human being on this planet more-consciously and most-directly so connected-with & attuned-to the starry expanse of space which we call the Sky, without the immediacy of one’s visual exposure-to and silent intimacy of attentive-Presence-with the clear Night sky.

Over time, the practical aspects of astrological endeavors, those concerning the Interpretation (of different factors & of their mutual clusterings/connections) and, especially, related to this, the Prediction, have developed so that they function as yet-another obscuring, in-itself-enclosed loop-within-loop. Onto the Zodiac, the 12 portions of this stellar realm, started being projected the themes, thoughts and ideas which emerged to our awareness related to the planets of our Solar system: we gradually got into this notion as habit of perceiving the Zodiac-related starry-space-expanse as inherently defined by the qualities/ideas/properties that we noticed to be related to the planets!

The concept of “planets ruling the signs” emerged, directing steadily - however very subtly and slowly – in a loopy-manner our attention, until almost fully locking it in within this, into projecting the ideas stemming from observation of what-is-close-by and somewhat-known onto the what is distantly-away, and with qualities that are fundamentally the-yet-unknown – putting up, thus, a specific kind of veil before our eyes, a fixed-type of imagery-charade that supposedly exists in service of us “seeing and learning-about the stars”, while what it’s actually been doing has been: blocking of our sight, the vision-potential, to be present to the starry-realm itself, by persistently training into atrophy our very capacity for the direct-awareness of this at all, as such.

Granted there are some similarities/affinities in observed qualities between individual planets and one or another of the Zodiac signs, the actually accurate, adequate way of language-use about this is not the term “rulership” (and other such similar forms); the most & best we can do is say it’s “representation” of a sign/starry-realm by a planetary-principle – and even this is a bit of a stretch, for all we actually know is that, simply, there is a similarity, a likeness-of-quality; to project some fixed ideas of hierarchical (and/or enclosed-schematics) kind onto it doesn’t in any way support increase of our knowledge, or the developing/deepening of our understanding, of either side of these two peculiar groupings of astrological factors, the signs and the planets.

The open-ended, expandingly-spiraling, oriented toward-infinity movement of the tissue of the time-space-continuum’s body, as well as of what we know as Life itself, requires that we adjust our ways of approaching the Observation, and introduce changes in the default-mode of our automated, yet which are obscuring/blinding, perception-tendencies – however ‘safely habituated’ many of us have become in such patterns.

The Science – human scientific endeavor as such, stemming from the species’ capacity, willingness and openness to continually Learn – is ultimately about Revealing, the Uncovering, bringing-to-open-sight, that which has been thus-far not-known (including the not even considered as possible-to-be existing!), about the properties and qualities of the processes & rhythms of Nature (in the smaller as well as wider scope of what we call by this name).

And this our dance-like process, at times smooth, at times turbulent, is not, at any moment, in any of its phases, a “finished product”; a fractal-expression of the universal evolving-expansion-of-Life movement as it is, it’s an ongoingly-open-ended process: whatever “definite answers” that we come-upon as we thus Go, it is the Open-questions which are of greatest value! – sometimes, these bring what feels like a-huge-disturbance to the structures of “definite answers” we’ve been very sure we’ve indisputably “got to get hold-of” during the dance-thus-far; but if the movement keeps-going in a Balanced way, open-ended, with our actual capacities and willingness to keep-Learning not atrophied, such shaking-up passages eventually come to be nothing more but a funny-facts historical data, an interesting aspects of the what-transpired-in-the-past, to tell the Children about.

Herethere follows a list of stars which are on and in-the-immediate-proximity-of the ecliptic-area, by their Zodiac longitude.
Some of them are by the present-day astronomical designations classified under the constellations/visual-grouping names which are not among the Zodiac’s Twelve, but this is not of concern for us here; they are positioned in the sky in such way that, within the non-light-polluted, clear-night conditions, we can observe them in immediate relation to the position of the visible Lunar disk, as well as to the positions of the planets of our Solar system (the naked-eye visible ones, together with the telescope-visible ones) – however some or another group’s current-decision, pertinent to one or another period of human history, may decide to designate them, for all our practical intents and purposes, these naturally belong with the Zodiac-region.  –  It is the position of those brightest among them which are most closely aligned with the ecliptic itself, and with their exact spatial-mutual-relation as it is, the observation of which (in light of, primarily & initially, using the visible Moon’s motion as the easy-marker for measurements) enabled over time our awareness of the Zodiac to emerge with the degree of accuracy which is at the disposal of our knowledge today [for more info on this subject, see: fiducial/s, Fagan-Bradley ayanamsha].

Is or isn’t there “a First among the Twelve” is a matter to be left for further investigation; in order to at all approach it, an agreement would need to be made about How exactly are we to (at least practically, in an on-the-go working manner) define what is, in this context, adequate to be considered as “the Beginning”-marker. – Thus, to avoid any unnecessary confusion at this time, the list begins with the sign-segment of the Zodiac directionally aligned with our local Galactic Center, Sagittarius, following in the observable sequence in which the Solar System’s bodies traverse “through” the signs.

It is by no means an exhaustive, an all-included kind of a “complete” list; it’s merely to serve as a small initial-steps type of a visual navigation aid.
What is it that you can/will do with it - whether you may perhaps come to feel drawn to undertake a sort of a study ( - something, for example, based on longitudinal relation of the Moon’s/Sun’s or the syzygies’ position with them?), or to simply just observe, during the clear nights, being silently Present-with the visibility of the stars themselves as they are in the sky - or yet something altogether else – I’m leaving to the guidance of your inspiration.
