The closest-by-orb factors in the whole chart are the Moon's aspect with transiting Mars and natal Saturn, together with tr Uranus' angularity; the events come up in a way which is abrupt, shock-surprising, in some way directly aggressive/attacking/hurtful, undoubtedly very painful (either "only" emotionally, or physically, or both) for the Native (SL Moon partile with t Mars and r Saturn), with the Natives own tendency-of-activity/response being of the withdrawal/closing-off/getting-away kind (r Pluto angular, r Saturn partile with the SL Moon).

Based on this, and what the current LS shows (it has set on 6/17, only 5 hours before the time his death happened), it seems her psyche has been simply refusing to accept that he is dead, and that the process of grieving, with slow, gradual coming to acceptance, has been unfolding during the rest of this SL year (the SL 3/19/53 had the Moon of the chart partile with her natal Jupiter, as only aspect of this Moon - a shift of tides toward feeling pronouncedly better, with own capacity for participating in the fullness of Joy of life being re-awakened, after the grim condition of these partile Lunar aspects of the SL '52).

Death of Native certainly is such an event that we can term as an "impactful" - it'd be utterly impractical to deny its definite permanent effect on the Nativity .

But there are different ways in which people die; sometimes, it can be anticipated, with a process clearly leading to it; sometimes it's a rather sudden and brief-in-time event, and in such cases, to expect that the whole monthly, or annual chart, "should" portray it is to deny the actuality of all the rest of the native's experience while they were living, before this terminal-event itself came to transpire. (Thus, a broad category like "violent deaths", for astrological investigation of the statistical kind doesn't really help us toward better understanding of astrological rhythms and factors, nor sheds more light on the experiences and human Life itself.)

But what about the suicides? Such deaths clearly do not come "all-of-a-sudden", there's always a process leading to it - longer or shorter, but surely in some way coming to be intensified/focalized during the exact period when the Nativity decides to take this peculiar step.

By looking at the wider, period-charts, for this specific kind of death-of-native events, we are in position to learn a lot about human psyche, as well as about the natural rhythms of its development and experiential tidings, which Astrology with its tools observes.

Each nativity is unique, and for the death of native to come by means of suicide, it has to be in some way "written", as a tendency, in the Natal chart itself; there are nativities which clearly are suicidal, and nativities which clearly are not; and, with it all, there are different kinds of periods in each person's individual life - including some such, at occasions, that bring even an utterly non-suicidal natus, temporarily, to desire/thoughts of taking their own life.

Although in this post I simply want to astrologically address, as an example of the SL Moon's precision-working, the case of Hitler's death, the above introduction felt warranted, for understanding the wider context: we can not approach each eventitude of a Native's death in the same manner, expecting, after seeing a certain larger number of examples, to come up with a "formula", or some "general pattern", and especially, can not expect the period-charts (such as bi-weekly, or monthly ones) to be some absolutely-reliable indicators, in this regard.

Hitler's final Soli-Lunar chart has set on 12/29/1944; he was presumably in Berlin at the time, but we do not know this for sure; nor can we with certainty know whether he was in Berlin on the dates when the two pertinent shorter-period charts, the Luni-Solar (LS) 4/13/1945 and the LS 4/26/1945, have set; he might have, but without the actual data about this available, it's nothing more than speculation. [If someone does have a source of historical record, re this, please do share it in the comments below.]

So, what we can use for a preview, as reliable astrological information regardless of the location on these dates, is the technique tool-kit trio of the: transits-to-radix, the situation of the progressions of natal (Secondary progressions, together with the Solar Arc), and the situation of the SL Moon - its current transits, and the aspects it eventually makes in progression, with natal, transiting or the SL (and p SL) planets.

Since this post is not about the wider tides, portrayed by the transits-to-radix and the Progressions, I will leave that to the reader to look up the details of these for themselves. - It is of importance to look into these, in specific when examining the suicides, for, as we said, these events are not such that come up "all of a sudden", they only come up as unfurling, the development and thereof a peculiar culmination, of processes which already have been actively transpiring (within Native's psyche and life) for some (longer or shorter) previous time.

It is interesting how in this case the specific event was timed when the progressed SL Moon came to be within 1* orb not to solely one or two/three of this peculiar aspect-clustering of the SL planets, but with all four of them --- providing information not only about the native's psychological condition, including outright tendency for decision to end own life (Moon-Saturn-Neptune combo), and the general focus of attention of both Native and environment on the specific importance of their own being/vitality (the Moon-Sun dynamic aspect), but also about there being a love/affection-related something in the mix of events and experiences as well (marriage with Eva Braun on 4/29, immediately preceding the death of the two, on 4/30).

At the exact day and time (4/30 at 15:30 CET), transiting Sun came to be exact (within 1* orb) to the SL Pluto, Mars and Mercury, together with transiting Mars having just entered orb octile to natal Saturn.

Charles Lindbergh - Life events 1932

When looking at the Return charts for a pilot, there's the disadvantage of, most often, not having the information available about where exactly they were on certain dates (when the given charts we want to check have set).

In the case of Lindbergh, we are fortunate enough to actually do have the info available (with the help of some internet "digging" :)) about his location on 4/25/1927 and 5/8/1927, when the Luni-Solar charts (describing the bi-weekly tides) pertinent to the events in his life for which he's most worldly famous have taken place (as well as on 5/19/27, when the SLR chart related to this period has set), and for the LS 5/23/27, which occurred at 00:47:20 CET in Paris, France - which is a bit over 24 hours after he has landed.

These charts are literally amazing to look at!

But I will leave that analysis for some other occasion, and in this post, want to focus on events from 1932, being extraordinarily illustrative of the precision, both re the when and the what kind, with which the progressed SL Moon "works".

On March 1st 1932, his child of under two years age was kidnapped - taken from the family's home in East Amwell, NJ, and money was requested from Lindbergh family, in exchange for the toddler's life.

The police has been engaged with investigating the case and looking for the child; a ransom was paid by the Lindberghs; but the child hasn't been returned to the parents, nor otherwise the abductors and the child found, for the following about 1.5 months after the kidnapping has taken place.

And on May 12th, the remains of the child's dead body were found in the woods near the Lindberghs' home.

To say that from the perspective of the child's parent this sequence of events is something which is "emotionally ravishing" would be a mild formulation, and a crude understatement. The kidnapping itself took place within the context of Lindbergh's fame and the social position as it was; how profoundly painful and deeply life-altering this, as experience, has been for him we, as outside observers, can certainly barely come to even imagine.

What we can do as astrologers, is to utilize the techniques (our tools) available, to glean into the events in this manner, by trying to see and understand them through the lens of the astrological planetary symbolism.

The two most impactful "moments" in this whole event-sequence are clearly the kidnapping event itself, March 1st, and then the day when the child's dead body remains have been found, May 12th. Between these two days, there has been the period of uncertainty, continual expectation of the dreadful condition to be resolved, tension, and for the parent, surely internal condition of desire to come to be as soon as possible reunited with their child, in the best possible manner that this could happen.

What the transits to the natal can show isn't of use here, for depicting the events and experiences in some more precise, time-narrowed-down way, for the wider transits that were active during this period have been so as longer processes; and the same goes for the factors shown by the Solar Arc.

Not knowing where exactly the Native was at the time when either the current SL (12/18/1931) or the SSR (2/4/1932) has set, and not having the info about the location for the monthly (bi-weekly) charts pertaining to these two specific dates/events, the 3/1/32 and 5/12/32, we can thus only turn attention to what the Moon of the annual chart can show.

The Moon in the SSR chart is conj the Saturn and Mercury of the chart, with both applying:

This speaks of something harsh and heavy potentially befalling the native during the pertinent year, which primarily has to do with communication/business/administration, and can broadly be depicted as "loss", or otherwise, a constraint, or a peculiar kind of burdening or limitations being expressed from the side of the environment toward the native.

By progressing this Moon, to see when this Saturnian kind of experiences are focused, we see that the aspect is exact around April 1st, with the whole period of it moving within 1* orb cnj the SSR Saturn being from March 4th till April 29th.

This points to neither the first event, nor the second; the symbolism depicted, of there being some Saturnian-kind-of-experiences, is broadly fitting, but doesn't say anything specific about these peculiar events, such that it's portraying their exact quality/nature, nor does the progression of this SSR Moon provide the actual timing info - it emphasizes the days around April 1st, and it is out of orb both at the time when the kidnapping took place (a shockingly-surprising event, surely of profound emotional impact), as well as when the child's dead body remains have been found (again, a profoundly impactful event, and with peculiar quality of its nature).

The Moon in the SL chart is conjunct the Uranus and Sedna of the chart:

From this, we can see something of an utterly shock-surprising kind is "set up" to be experienced by the native, during the course of the pertinent annual period (12/18/31 - 12/17/32); we can't really know any kind of details from these aspects alone, but can with some certainty say that the emotional impact on the native and the importance of it all for their psyche is of the nature that is *extremely deep*, and connected to the very *roots*, the deeper limbic aspects of the psyche and native's existence in the world.

Since I've elaborated on the details of the actual events themselves above, there's no need to go into repeating that now again.

FRIDA KAHLO - death

FRIDA KAHLO - death

Frida died on 7/19/1954 “in early AM hours”, in Mexico City.

She underwent a leg amputation a year before, and during this period, the second half of 1954, was physically and emotionally in a deeply exhausted, oversaturated by pain, condition (in February ’54 she wrote in her diary about wanting to kill herself, and being in a state of suffering more than ever thus far in her life).

I’ll leave the Solar Arc for the day for you to look up by yourself. Everyone living through this age-period of their life goes through the time of “everything comes octile to itself”, the directed to natal positions; what’s especially astounding in Frida’s case here are the orbs.

The Sec. Progressed Moon on the day was at 23*16’ Cap, coming exact to that same pair of rx Midpoints mentioned in the analysis of the SL 1925 chart, i.e. Pl/Se 23*37’ Ari and Ve/Se 23*55’ Ari (longitudes of the direct MPs).

The new SSR has just set 13 days prior (7/6/’54);

it has nothing transiting angular, and the rx Moon 8* 12’ from MC as the sole rx, and sole angular as such, factor;

the SSR Moon is connected with the SSR Mars, cnj 24’ a

By this chart, we’d expect a year when the native is being under some kind of attack or otherwise aggressiveness directed toward them from the environment (it’s the *transiting* Mars with the SSR Moon); and the general tone of the year such as depicted by the broad-presence of rx Moon angularity – the native’s adaptability faculties are brought to the fore; they seek to nest, are in need/looking-for more security, there are changes in domestic conditions, etc.

FRIDA KAHLO - Bus accident event 1925

[ - this was originally written for the forum, so I'll convey it here in the same format, and also as two posts, for it's observing and analyzing two different life-events of this Nativity, so it makes it easier to read as two separate entries:]

I want to share today about an interesting and educative example --- consisting of two different life-events for a single nativity, Frida Kahlo --- nicely illustrating the principle, of which I’ve been often speaking recently, how the big, important, life-impactful events do not just “pop up, on their own, out of nowhere” during some given shorter observed time-frame, but they come to transpire as unfolding of the multi-layered, interwoven tapestry of the thread-movements of the whole of nativity’s life, and thus, both their nature and their timing is necessarily indicated by the wider tides (such as annual), and can not be something that we can expect to be shown merely by a single monthly (or bi-weekly) chart.

Frida’s birth time is AA-rated; the data is:

July 6th 1907, 8:30 LMT, Coyoacán, Mexico

On 9/17/1925, in Mexico City, she experienced the life-altering bus accident, which has heavily damaged her body, and also set her off onto the life-long path of visual art, as a way of expression of her own authentic genius.

From the astrodatabank biography:

“Frida was pierced by the trolley's metal handrail which entered her lower body on the left side and exited through her vagina. Her spinal column and pelvis were each broken in three places; her collarbone and two ribs broken as well. Her right leg, the one deformed by polio, was shattered, fractured in 11 places and her right foot was dislocated and crushed.

She spent a month in the hospital and two more recuperating at home. A lifelong series of operations followed, and her first prolonged hospitalization led to her learning to paint.”

This was the broader period during which:

transiting Sedna was going exact with her Moon, transiting Pluto has been moving ‘over’ her natal Neptune-Sun-Mars-Moon, and, within which, transiting Uranus came to visit the natal Venus-Pluto.

The Solar Arc at the time brought the d. Eris with the rx Sun-Mars-Neptune, d. Pluto with rx Uranus-Sedna, and d. Saturn with rx Moon.

So, by these, we see that it’s a period of about two years of something significant going on, and that a major-transformation kind of event, of life-scope in its significance, is “in the brewing”; but looking at these alone doesn’t provide us with a more precise info about the when nor much details about the of exactly what nature of the key-event/s.

The period during which tr Jupiter joins the Pluto’s transit potentially helps narrow down the time frame to: it might be something happening between February and October 1925, especially given that this is also the time when the d. Saturn comes closest with the rx Moon, and when both tr Pluto and tr Sedna are within 30’ orb oct with the rx Moon. But, again, none of these actually help us determine the more-specific time frame nor get the info about the exact nature of what-is-it that’s, clearly, pending to in some way ‘befall’ the nativity during this wider period.

So, what do the annual tides have to show?

Her Sun is at 19*55’52’’ Gemini, and her Moon at 06*16’02’’ Taurus, so her Soli-Lunar sets on/around May 21st, and her Solar return on/around July 6th.

Let’s take a look at these two sets of annual charts for the period pertaining to the year of life: mid-1924 to mid-1925 and mid-1925 to mid-1926, because this is when the Uranus transit comes to join the other wider transit-to-natal tides, and within this period also the Solar Arc factors which indicate some significant even/s are getting focalized.

The SL 5/21/1924 has:

- and no natal planets angular.

The SL Moon is at 10*25’ Sag, being connected by oct (sep.) with the SL Neptune, 1*23’, and by a (separating) sq with the SL Eris, 3*36’; there’s no connection with the rx planets, nor rx Midpoints, and these two are both separating, so the progressed SL Moon isn’t coming toward being exact with any of them, which would potentially be of help for us to narrow down the when & what of the something-impactful-happening.

By this chart, we see the native is having an exciting year (the Moon aspects), and is generally protected and within the environmental conditions of benevolent, supportive kind (tr Jupiter and tr Node as only angular planets).

The SSR 7/5/1924 has:

The SSR Moon is tightly connected with the SSR Pluto by an 57’ orbed octile (applying), and a bit more loosely with the rx Moon, 3*58’ square (also appl.).

We also see that during the period of January-February 1925 this Moon progresses to come exact with the SSR Mars.

This gives a picture of an extremely dramatic year, certainly with events of life-impactful scope and nature; we’d expect the native also to be in some kind of life-danger, by this specific combo of angular planets, considering their overall picture, their orbs, and together with the SSR Moon’s situation as it is.

We now, of course, know that the impactful-event (experience) setting-off the life-transformation (in all respects) has happened not during this annual period for the native, but during the next one.

Knowing the time and the nature of the event, as we do, in retrospect, let’s look, then, at what the pertinent annual charts, as well as the monthly ones, have to say, and see what we can learn from them.

The SL 5/21/1925 has:

The SSR 7/5/1925 has:

The SSR Moon’s aspects: cnj rx Mars 33’ s, opp rx Sun 35’ s, opp SSR Pluto 1*07’ s, sq SSR Sedna 1*25’ a and cnj SSR Jupiter 3*57’ a.

These SSR Moon’s aspects indicate that the native’s life will undergo a profound transformation during the year. But of what exact kind, in what way, and when exactly during the year, by this chart itself, nor with looking at transits to radix (as well as the Sol. Arc factors) together with it, we could not tell.

The planets involved, composing the overall picture of “what’s going on” in the chart speak of: a surprising, sudden change of conditions (t Er, Ur), bringing forth the native’s own Saturnian side of the character: withdrawal, self-constrain, self-doubts etc; the environment-originating events are: freeing and releasing, refreshing, renewing (while also shocking), and the native’s response to conditions tends to be of the self-restraining kind, i.e. their own capacity for persistence, self-limitation, etc. comes to the fore.

The natal Sun-Mars and the transiting Pluto-Sedna-Jupiter tied with the SSR Moon speak of the layer to this which shows the native, while being self-restrained etc, also is very active, more aggressive than usual (it’s the natal, not transiting, Sun-Mars), full of energy that seeks expression; and some huge changes in social conditions/environment of the native (transiting Pluto-Jupiter-Sedna), perhaps related to their family situation, and/or pertaining to their overall status and finances, is to be expected.

We see that the Moon of the chart progresses to be exact with the Solar Jupiter in about two months after the chart has set, i.e. during the period of mid-September to mid-November, so that’s the time during this year when we expect the native to be in their best condition; within the framework that the chart portrays an “impending doom” kind of something, this is the period that we can sort out as “the time when the native is least likely to suffer, i.e. the most protected”.

The SL picture, on the other side, speaks of:
